Zimbal, Anna Marie (18 May 1880 - 22 Dec. 1944)

Mrs. Ann Marie Zimbal, who had been ill more or less since March, 1942, with heart trouble and other complication of ailments, died at her home in the town of Holton at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon, Dec. 22, 1944. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Zion Ev. Lutheran church of Colby, Rev. O. H. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Carl Sabler, Ewald Wiersig, Walter Wiersig, Fred Schwierske, W. F. Schwantes and A. W. Bruss.

Anna Marie Marquardt was born in the town of Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan county, on May 18, 1880, thus reaching the age of 64 years, seven months and seven days. There she grew to womanhood and received her early training. In 1905, she became the bride of Albert Zimbal at the old Lutheran church in Sheboygan. After their honeymoon, they moved to Abbotsford, Wis., and settled on a track of land which was a wilderness at the time, and, by hard and diligent work, built a fine dairy farm which they still possess.

Surviving are the deceased’s husband and the two children born to the union - Meta Metalta Zimbal and Alfred Edward Zimbal. Also one sister, Mrs. Ella Fitense; three brothers, Richard Marquardt and Hugo Marquardt of Sheboygan Falls and Henry Marquardt, address unknown; and two grand children.

The deceased was a good Christian, faithful to all her obligations and always considered the welfare of her family above pleasure and social affairs.
